After the capture of Donbas, the Russian Armed Forces may threaten the Dnipro region in the spring. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to The Times.
According to the publication, Moscow is ready to sacrifice an unlimited number of troops for Pokrovsk. As in Mariupol, Bakhmut and Avdiivka, Russian troops intend to raze the city to the ground to capture it.
This could open the way to the rest of Donbas and an offensive on the Dnipro region.
The media also writes that neither side of the conflict expects a solution on the battlefield this year, but both are playing for a “big push” in the 2025 ground war, the publication says.
The Times also writes that Russia needs Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar as springboards for a large-scale offensive against other regions of Ukraine.
