Despite the fact that Trump has often spoken about expelling illegal Latin American migrants from America and building a wall on the border with Mexico, 45% of Latin Americans with a US passport voted for him.
Among 18-29 year olds, Trump narrowed the gap by 11% points. And in the largest age group of 45 to 64 years old, he increased his advantage from 1 to 8%.
Among women, according to preliminary data, Trump gained even more than among men. Among people without a college degree, Trump’s support has also increased even more.
As a reminder, as of now, Donald Trump has received 277 of the required 270 votes in the presidential race. In addition, the Republicans, whose candidate was Trump, won a majority in the Senate – 52 out of the 50 required seats.
As for the House of Representatives, it is not yet possible to determine who won the majority. After all, Republicans and Democrats are almost tied: the former won 198 seats, and the latter won 178. But analysts are already saying that Republicans are likely to have a majority in both houses of Congress.
