Hacker stole data from Signal duplicate app

An unknown hacker has hacked the TeleMessage app, which creates versions of popular messengers, including Signal. Recently, it became known that this was the application used by the fired US National Security Advisor Mike Volz.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to the technology website 404 media, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
TeleMessage is an Israeli company that sells modified versions of Signal and other messengers that allow you to store and archive messages that are encrypted in the regular version of the application.
To do this, TeleMessage “embeds” itself between the user and the original application, and then intercepts and records messages before they are encrypted.
Last week, Reuters published a photo of the now-fired US National Security Advisor Mike Volz looking at his phone during a Cabinet meeting, which was open with TeleMessage Signal.
In it, he probably exchanged messages with high-ranking US officials, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard. Wired writes that it is unclear whether Volz started using TeleMessage after the Signal leak scandal or before it.
Now, the hacker has breached the app’s infrastructure, obtaining data related to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, cryptocurrency company Coinbase, and other financial institutions.
Although he did not gain access to the messages of Volz or other members of the government, this hack demonstrates that the archived chat logs were not end-to-end encrypted.
