Princess Catherine of Wales (Kate Middleton) has completed chemotherapy, which she underwent in connection with the cancer she was diagnosed with earlier this year, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Kate Middleton accompanied her statement with footage of her husband, three children and her parents on holiday.
The last nine months, the princess said in her statement, have been “incredibly difficult” for her family.
“Life, as you know, can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy currents and unknown roads. This is a difficult, scary and unpredictable path for everyone, especially for those closest to us,” she said.
The princess thanked everyone for their support, including her family, and stressed that the experience reminded her and Prince William “of the need to reflect and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that many of us often take for granted. Just to love and be loved.”
According to Catherine, she is now going to “do everything possible to stay healthy”. The princess stressed that although chemotherapy is over, “the road to full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
“I look forward to returning to work and, when I am able, to taking part in several public events in the coming months. To all those who continue their fight against cancer, I stand with you, side by side, shoulder to shoulder. Light can come out of darkness, so let that light shine brightly,” said Kate.
On 17 January, Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales had been admitted to a private hospital in London for routine abdominal surgery. The palace said that Her Highness would need a long period of recovery.
Kate Middleton announced her diagnosis in March. Doctors discovered she had cancer after abdominal surgery. The Princess underwent chemotherapy.
