Since the first day of the full-scale invasion, Kernel has been supporting the AFU by providing Ukrainian army units with the necessary equipment and machinery. Over 2bn hryvnyas have been allocated for the assistance over the past two years. This is stated in the company’s release, Komersant ukrainskyi .
Kernel has chosen the approach of providing support with its own forces and resources. The company directly contacts suppliers and provides logistics on its own, without accumulating administrative costs.
In order to ensure that the support arrives systematically and on time, Kernel directly interacts with four brigades of the AFU – 95 ODShBr, 93 OMBR “Kholodnyi Yar”, 72 OMBR named after Chernyi Zaporozhtsev, 14 OMBR named after Prince Roman the Great. Being constantly in touch with military men from the brigades, the company promptly processes requests from the defenders and provides everything necessary. Among the key areas of assistance are vehicles, UAVs and quadrocopters, headquarters equipment, communications equipment and the like.
“Our business is located on Ukrainian soil, so from the first day of the full-scale invasion we realised that we had to be a point of support for our defenders no matter what, because thanks to their courage we can continue our activities for the benefit of Ukraine and bring victory closer. We quickly came to the realisation that we wanted and, most importantly, could help directly. To be even more effective, Kernel directly supports specific brigades. There are currently four of them.
At the same time, we realise that during the two years of fighting, the number of those returning from the front is increasing, and many of our employees are among them. Therefore, we are increasingly focusing on veterans and their needs for employment and social adaptation,” said Evgeny Osipov, CEO of Kernel.
As of today, the company has mobilised 850 employees, more than 70 of whom are veterans. Military colleagues are provided with payments and all necessary equipment. For veterans, the company implements reintegration programmes, including the opportunity to learn new professions, job adaptation, legal assistance, as well as support for psychological and physical health. It has a separate line of work for people with disabilities.
Kernel ‘s projects for veterans aim to cover not only the company’s employees. For example, as part of this initiative, the company also supported the Pototskyi Fight Club, a sports organisation with an important social mission to help military personnel during rotation and veterans in their rehabilitation and return to civilian life through the promotion of boxing. The club provides defenders with the opportunity to train for free and trains boxing athletes.
