Head of Poltava BES declared an aircraft, millions of dollars in cash and 200 hectares of land

The head of the territorial department of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) in Poltava region, Oleh Pakhnits, in his declaration for 2023, indicated his income, which indicates that everything is in order with his personal economic security. This was reported by Komersant UkrainianKomersant Ukrainian

In particular, the official declared cash savings of $6.5 million and several apartments and a house of 241.7 sq m in property, more than ten parking spaces. At the same time, both he and his wife rent another apartment. His wife rents a 175 sq m apartment in Slovakia.

His family also owns 30 plots of land in the Dnipro region with a total area of 178 hectares. They are registered in the names of him, his wife and daughter, and 16 of them were purchased in 2023.

Among the declared assets, Pakhnits listed several pieces of hunting rifles, trucks, cars, and semi-trailers.

The cherry on top of the official’s declaration is a single-engine Socata TB 20 GT aircraft made in 2001. It belongs to the agricultural enterprise Progress, whose beneficiary was previously Pakhnits. The aircraft, with the tail number UR-COL, is valued at around $415,000 on the market.

Pakhnits’s salary for 2023 was UAH 714,662.

Oleg Pakhnits’s career path

According to the BES website, Oleg Pakhnits was born in 1975 in Mariupol. He received a law degree from the Yaroslav the Wise National Law Academy of Ukraine, specialising in law, and qualified as a lawyer.

From 1998 to 2014, he worked at the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.

From 2014 to 2022, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activity.

In December 2022, he was appointed Head of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Poltava Region.
