In the mountains near the border with Romania, Bukovinian border guards record frosty weather. At night, thermometers drop to minus 30 degrees. This was reported by the Chernivtsi border guard detachment, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
“Severe weather conditions continue to prevail in the Carpathians. On one of the mountainous sections of the state border with Romania, border guards of the Chernivtsi detachment recorded a significant drop in air temperature. During the day, it is minus 23-25°, at night – up to minus 30°,” the statement said.
Border guards emphasize that despite the beautiful snow-covered mountain scenery, such low temperatures are very dangerous for human health and life.
They reminded that the day before, border guards in Zakarpattia, together with rescuers, were searching for three men who got lost in the mountains for eight hours.
The men had been wandering in the snowy mountains for two days, and then decided to call for help.
