Personnel changes in the Prosecutor General’s Office: Council of Prosecutors approves three deputies of Kravchenko

The Council of Prosecutors of Ukraine has approved the appointment of three new deputies to Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. This was reported by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

These are Maria Vdovichenko, Maksym Krym and Andriy Leshchenko.

“As I said, Maria Vdovichenko, Maksym Krym and Andriy Leshchenko have been approved by the Council of Prosecutors for the positions of Deputy Prosecutor General,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

These personnel decisions were part of the formation of a new management team in the Prosecutor General’s Office after Ruslan Kravchenko was appointed as the head of the agency.

Who exactly received the approval

First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office Maria Vdovychenko.

Head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office Maksym Krym

Andriy Leshchenko. He worked as a prosecutor in the Office of the Prosecutor General and, in particular, as Deputy Head of the Department for Procedural Guidance and Support of Public Prosecution of the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict, Office of the Prosecutor General.

The official appointment has not yet been made.

For reference. The Council of Prosecutors consists of 15 members, 13 of whom are prosecutors representing the Prosecutor General’s Office, the SAPO, regional and district prosecutor’s offices. Its powers include convening the All-Ukrainian Conference of Prosecutors, ensuring the independence of prosecutors, their legal and social protection, as well as making recommendations on the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors from administrative positions.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave its consent to the President to appoint Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General.

on June 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree appointing Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General.

On June 23, Ruslan Kravchenko officially took up his duties as Prosecutor General of Ukraine without bureaucratic traditions and formal introduction by the President.

Kravchenko’s priorities as Prosecutor General

In his first address in office, Ruslan Kravchenko outlined the key areas of work:

  • Strengthening the role of the prosecutor’s office as the main coordinator of law enforcement agencies in the field of combating crime and the functioning of the criminal justice system in general;
  • Ensuring real trust in the prosecution authorities both from our society, the public and our international partners;
  • Control over the legitimacy of the use of budget funds, zero tolerance to corruption in any area;
  • Creating conditions for the further implementation of effective guarantees to protect the rights and legitimate interests of business;
  • Ensuring fairness in every criminal proceeding, especially those related to the national security of the state;
  • Personal control over the effectiveness of criminal proceedings related to attacks on the life and health of children and minors.
