President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga the candidacies of Ukrainian ambassadors for vacant positions in the respective countries. The head of state said this in an evening video address, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“Today we have also determined a lot of issues related to our diplomacy. Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, we discussed the candidacies of Ukrainian ambassadors to vacant positions in the respective countries, and discussed the results of the work of our diplomats. We are preparing replacements and appointments,” Zelenskyy said.
It should be noted that back in September, the new Foreign Minister announced personnel changes. Sibiga said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine would be reformatted. This process includes personnel decisions and the involvement of young people.
“At a recent meeting of ambassadors chaired by the president, we agreed on a list of priority countries and regions where we will open new diplomatic missions. There will be personnel changes – new ambassadors and consuls general will appear. There will also be changes in the central apparatus aimed at strengthening the system,” the minister said.
According to Sibiga, “the measure for each head of foreign missions will be the result, not self-promotion and publications on social media.”
In September, Sibiga dismissed his deputy and recalled the charge d’affaires in Georgia.
