The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil: who became the new head
8 November 23:39Today, on November 8, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Roman Opimakh from the post of head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the government’s press service.
As a reminder, Roman Opimakh has been the head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil for exactly 5 years – since November 8, 2019, his predecessor was Oleh Kyryliuk. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Association of Gas Producers of Ukraine, worked as an advisor to the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine on oil and gas sector issues, and as the Head of Energy at the Coordination Center for Relations with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
Opimakh explained his dismissal as the end of his five-year term as head of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources. He said that over the past five years, he had managed to digitize the key services of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil and significantly increase their efficiency and transparency.
“We continued to attract investments in the development of subsoil use sectors, even during the war years. This year, the state budget revenues from the sale of special permits have already reached UAH 3 billion. The Service regularly prepared new subsoil use objects for electronic bidding by holding open auctions. Over 500 special permits for subsoil use have been sold for almost UAH 6 billion during the e-auctions,” said Opimakh.
The Cabinet of Ministers has temporarily entrusted Serhiy Dekhtyarenko with the duties of the Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil.
He holds the position of Deputy Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization.
What we know about Sergiy Dekhtyarenko
Sergiy Dekhtyarenko has experience in government and commercial organizations. He held senior positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, and the State Labor Service of Ukraine.
He holds the 2nd rank of civil servant.
Prior to joining the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, he worked as Deputy State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
