Israel plans to provide the Ukrainian army with early warning systems for missile strikes and drone attacks. This was stated by Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, during a meeting of the UN General Assembly, Kommersant Ukrainian reports
“Israel is working to provide Ukraine with early warning systems in order to save civilians from Russian attacks,” Erdan said,
– erdan said.
According to him, Israel has already become an expert in this matter from its own experience.
He recalled that in the first week after the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Israel sent more than 100 tonnes of “humanitarian equipment” to Ukraine and that “hundreds of Ukrainians were treated in Israeli hospitals and rehabilitation centres.”
It should be noted that Israel uses its own missile warning system called “Tzeva Adom” (“Red “). The Israeli warning system uses a combination of radar and electro-optical devices to detect rocket, missile and drone launches.
It classifies them by size and determines the threats they pose. It then plots the areas at risk on a map.
Citizens receive warnings through sirens, alerts on their phones, and messages on television and radio.
