Inflation in Ukraine slowed to 0.3% in February from 0.4% in January, while the consumer price index fell to 4.3% in February from 4.7% in January. This was reported by the State Statistics Service, according to Kommersant Ukrainian
In February, core inflation remained at the level of January – 0.4% after zero in December and 0.3% in November. In annual terms, it fell to 4.5% from 4.6%.
In the consumer market, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 0.4% in February. Vegetables went up the most (by 4.4%), while butter went up by 2.8%. Milk went up by 0.8%. Cheese and soft cheese went up by 1.4%.
Prices for eggs fell by 3.5%, sunflower oil fell by 1.1%, sugar fell by 2.2%, and prices for meat and meat products decreased by 0.8%.
Clothing and footwear prices fell by 3.5%. Transport prices also fell.
