During a conversation with XPRIZE founder Peter Diamandis, Elon Musk confirmed his views on the development of artificial intelligence, Mars colonization, and the future of energy. Speaking at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, he discussed SpaceX’s goals for Mars, Tesla’s autonomous cars, and the X AI expansion that could change the world beyond the use of robots and missiles.

Development of artificial intelligence

Musk believes that by 2029, machines will become smarter than humans, and the development of artificial intelligence will increase tenfold every year. At the same time, he expresses concern, noting that there is a 10-20% chance that AI could lead to the extinction of humanity.

His company, X AI, is making great progress with its Colossus supercomputer, which intends to outperform models like Open AI’s GPT. At the same time, Musk warns of the threat of a global demographic decline, in particular due to low birth rates in South Korea and Europe, urging people to be prepared for possible changes.

SpaceX’s plans to colonize Mars continue to be central to Musk’s strategy. At the conference, he said that SpaceX plans to send the first unmanned spacecraft to Mars in a little over two years, and two years after that, the crew.

Recently, SpaceX achieved a new historic success when a Super Heavy rocket was caught in the air with the help of robotic “sticks” Mechazilla, preparing it for a vertical landing. This will significantly reduce launch costs, which is critical to Musk’s plans to establish human settlements on Mars.

Musk’s prospects for Mars colonization

According to Musk’s forecasts, by 2040, there will be about 10 billion humanoid robots on Earth, which will increase Tesla’s market value to $25 trillion in 2025 thanks to Optimus. Musk is convinced that technology will make high incomes available to everyone, and there will be no need for a universal basic income.
