eHousing has become more affordable for young people: how to get a mortgage (video)
6 November 15:53Ukrainians under the age of 26 can get a mortgage with a down payment of only 10% of the cost of housing, not 20%, as it was before. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the portal “Diya”.
According to Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, changing the terms of the state mortgage program is the first step to encourage young people to stay in Ukraine in wartime, in particular through access to affordable housing, which will not only improve the quality of life but also strengthen the country’s economy.
“The development of the eHousing program will contribute not only to the construction industry, but also to related sectors, which will have a positive impact on the economic situation in Ukraine,” Svyrydenko said.
Who can buy a home through the eHouse program
- defenders of Ukraine, security forces and their families
- specialists and professionals of state and municipal healthcare institutions
- teachers of state and municipal educational institutions;
- research and teaching staff of educational institutions and scientific institutions of state or municipal ownership.
Conditions for participation in the mortgage program
- citizenship of Ukraine
- age over 18 years at the time of loan disbursement;
- solvency;
- lack of own housing;
- housing is available, but it is less than 52.5 m² 21 m² for each additional family member;
- housing is available, but it is located in the area of hostilities or in the temporarily occupied territory;
- no name in the sanctions lists;
- the person does not participate in other existing government housing programs.
How to apply for a mortgage through eOselya
- Open the Diia app.
- Go to the Services section and select eOselya.
- Fill out an application and choose a bank.
- Sign the documents using Diia.Signature.
- Receive a response from the banks in the app and start the mortgage process.
- Choose the housing you plan to buy. You need to choose the property yourself, and provide the bank employees with the documents necessary to obtain a loan.
- Enter into agreements with the bank and a purchase and sale agreement. The loan funds are then transferred by the bank to the seller’s account.
Banks that lend under the eHouse program are
- Oschadbank;
- PrivatBank;
- Globus Bank;
- Ukrgasbank;
- Sky Bank.
eOselya is an affordable housing lending program initiated by the President of Ukraine. You can buy an apartment, house or townhouse at 3% or 7%, depending on the preferential category.
In just two years, 14,030 Ukrainian families have benefited from the affordable mortgage program, and the total amount of loans disbursed exceeds UAH 22.6 billion.
