“eBatkivshchyna”: the Ministry of Social Policy told about the stage of development of the platform for Ukrainians abroad

Deputy Minister of Social Policy Daryna Marchak announced the development of a digital tool that will help establish communication with Ukrainians abroad and facilitate their return. It is known that the ministry unofficially calls this project “eBatkivshchyna,” although the official name of the platform has not yet been approved. What is the demographic development strategy, what does it involve, and when will it start working – answers provided by the Ministry of Social Policy at the request of Komersant ukrainskyi.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the creation of this tool is part of the Strategy of Demographic Development of Ukraine until 2040, approved by the government. The Action Plan for 2024-2027 envisages the implementation of comprehensive solutions to attract Ukrainians living abroad.
The main implementers of the project are:
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;
- Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine;
- Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.

Implementation is scheduled for 2025.
The Ministry of Social Policy has no answer as to the exact number of Ukrainian citizens currently living outside the country. However, the new digital tool may help collect and analyze such data in the future, the ministry hopes.
