Ukraine’s Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said that some regions of Ukraine did not comply with dispatcher’s commands to limit power outages during the blackout schedules. This was reported by [Kommersant] reports citing a briefing by the head of the ministry on 8 August.
As a result, these regions will be held accountable. Galushchenko stressed that such behaviour is unacceptable, especially in times of war, and the principle of justice must be applied.
“We have a unified energy system, and it distributes the electricity deficit evenly across all regions. Yes, there are certain issues related to the presence of more or less critical infrastructure or industry, but this does not significantly affect the situation,” the minister said.
According to him, most of the violations were detected in Dnipropetrovs’k and Zhytomyr regions. In this regard, the State Agency for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities inspected the work of electricity distribution system operators and the fair distribution of energy in the regions. In Zhytomyr region, the inspectors even created obstacles to prevent them from entering the control rooms.
