The Ukraina Hotel in the centre of Kyiv was sold at auction for UAH 2.5 billion. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the State Property Fund.
The auction was held online for the first time in the Prozorro.Sale system. The auction started at UAH 1.05 billion. Three bidders competed for the lot. The winner offered 2.4 times the initial price for the hotel.
The auction was won by Ola Fine LLC with a registered capital of UAH 768 thousand. The company’s sole shareholder is the ARS Capital investment fund, and the ultimate owner is Maxim Krippa, who is registered in the UAE.
It should be noted that Ukraine is not Krippa’s first hotel. In particular, in 2020, he bought the Dnipro Hotel on Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv from the State Property Fund of Ukraine.
The Ukraina Hotel has 14 floors, 6 conference rooms, meeting rooms, parking, and 363 rooms.
During the martial law, it was unoccupied and accumulated over UAH 45 million in debt. As of the end of March, the hotel’s salary arrears amounted to UAH 3.9 million, budget arrears were UAH 10.8 million, and overdue accounts payable were UAH 21 million. The buyer must now provide social guarantees to employees in accordance with the law and cannot dismiss employees within six months of acquiring ownership.
