Heroes of Ukraine who have been awarded the title for an outstanding heroic act will be provided with one-time targeted assistance in the form of a dwelling for permanent residence. In the event of their death, family members will be entitled to the same. It is noted that the family or the defender himself does not have to be registered as a citizen in need of improved housing conditions.
“Persons who have been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star may receive one-time targeted assistance in the form of a dwelling for permanent residence, regardless of whether they are registered as citizens in need of better housing conditions,” the document says.
Posthumously, family members of the fallen hero will be entitled to this right.
According to the decree, housing will be provided at the expense of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, intelligence agencies, the Security Service, and the State Protection Department, where the recipients of the award are or have been serving.
The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
