NATO Secretary General nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. This was reported by the with reference to the Norwegian newspaper VG.

Abid Raja, deputy leader of the Liberal Party of Norway, has nominated NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for the Nobel Peace Prize. Raja believes that no one has done more than Stoltenberg to support peace and democracy in Europe and the world over the past year.

According to Raja, Stoltenberg has travelled to Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and many other countries in an effort to bring about negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.

“No other person outside Ukraine has made more efforts than him. He is constantly working for peace in Ukraine using his intellect, logic and emotions. His work has no limits, and he is a key figure in the effort to achieve peace beyond Ukraine’s borders,”

– raja said.

He also noted that, despite the fact that the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by a Norwegian committee, no Norwegian has ever won it before.

“Stoltenberg deserves it, regardless of the fact that he is Norwegian,” he said,

– raja said.

According to him, the NATO Secretary General has become a key figure in the search for ways to ensure peace in Europe over the past year.

“Stoltenberg is the link that unites the efforts of the international community in trying to resolve the conflict in Ukraine,”

– raja concluded.

It should be noted that the Nobel Peace Prize 2023 was awarded to Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. And the Nobel Peace Prize 2022 was awarded to one person and two organisations. These are the Ukrainian Centre for Civil Liberties, the Russian Memorial, and human rights lawyer Ales Bilatski of Belarus.
