The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv has ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to enter information on the commission of a criminal offence into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and to launch a pre-trial investigation into the activities of Ukrenergo NEC head Volodymyr Kudrytskyy, Komersant ukrainskyi
“To oblige the official (investigator) of the State bureau of investigations without delay, but not later than 24 hours after receipt by the body of pre-trial investigation a copy of the decision of the investigating judge, to enter into the Unified register of pre-trial investigations information on the commission of a criminal offence set out in the statement of Prikhodko N.K. from 29 July 2024, and to begin a pre-trial investigation,” – stated in the court ruling.
According to the publication Komersant ukrainskyi , the case concerns the acquisition of real estate in Kiev by the family of the head of NEC Ukrenergo in the fall of 2022.
Recall that in March 2024 NABU reported the completion of the investigation into a similar case involving NEC Ukrenergo and United Energy, proving the embezzlement of at least UAH 716 million. However, the head of the NEC, Volodymyr Kudrytskyy, was not among the defendants in this case – his subordinate, the head of Ukrenergo’s settlement administrator department, Dmytro Kondrashov, was put on the wanted list.

There was also information in the media about several different circumstances that NABU is investigating in relation to the activities of the head of Ukrenergo Kudrytskyy. In particular, the formation of bad debt for NEC Ukrenergo due to free electricity supply to United Energy and the purchase of several hundred bulletproof vests at an inflated cost.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyy himself said that the case that the VAKS obliged the NABU to open on 17 July concerned the purchase of bulletproof vests by the state-owned company and he considers it “an attempt to create an information occasion and a throw-in”.
