The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne has granted the appeal of former Ukrainian national team player Anatoliy Tymoshchuk against the Ukrainian Football Association to strip him of all titles. This is reported by Tribuna.com, informs Komersant ukrainskyi

Tymoshchuk is working as an assistant coach at Zenit St. Petersburg

After the full-scale invasion, he did not speak out in any way about Russia’s aggression, which was the reason for the imposition of sanctions against him. on March 11, 2022, the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the UAF decided to punish Tymoschuk. In particular, the UAF banned Tymoschuk from any activity related to soccer (administrative, sports, etc.) for life.

In addition, Anatoly was stripped of all his titles (winner and silver medalist of the Ukrainian championship, winner of the Cup and Super Cup of Ukraine), and the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the UAF recommended the UAF Licensing Center to take measures to revoke (deprive) Tymoschuk’s Pro-UEFA coaching license. Last year, the footballer was also included in the sanctions list of public persons of the National Security and Defense Council.

Tymoschuk tried to challenge the deprivation of his soccer regalia in the UAF Appeals Committee, but failed. He then appealed to CAS, which has now overturned the decision of the Ukrainian soccer authorities.

CAS reasoned its decision that, in its opinion, in the period from the start of the full-scale invasion until March 11, 2022, Anatoly had not committed any acts that could be grounds for sanctions against him.

The Ukrainian Association of Football for Tribuna.com has already commented on the shameful CAS decision on Tymoschuk.

“The UAF has indeed already received the decision from CAS. Unfortunately, the Europeans approached this case as formally as possible and confirmed a partial lack of understanding of the realities in which we live. The position of the Ukrainian soccer community is unambiguous and has never changed. Such as Tymoschuk has no place in Ukrainian soccer”, – said the UAF.
