Phishing attacks: Ukrainians warned about a new fraud scheme on behalf of Ukrposhta
11 April 21:59
The national postal operator warns Ukrainians against a new wave of fraudulent messages that are being actively sent via SMS, messengers, and email. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the official Telegram channel of Ukrposhta.
The attackers, hiding behind the authority of the state postal operator, use Ukrposhta logos and corporate identity to create the illusion of authenticity.
The messages usually refer to an allegedly undeliverable parcel. People are asked to click on a link to “clarify the address” or “confirm delivery.” The link does not lead to the official website, but to a fake resource that looks very similar to the real one. The goal of fraudsters is to gain access to personal data, including banking information.
Why is it dangerous?
After entering personal data on a phishing site, attackers can access your bank account, withdraw funds or take out loans in your name. Ukrposhta reminds you that you do not need to update your address, pay “additional fees” or enter payment details to receive your parcel as usual.
What should you pay attention to?
Fraudulent links usually contain inconsistencies in the domain name: extra characters, other domain zones (.com instead of .ua) or spelling errors. Visually, the site may look plausible, but the real Ukrposhta website is only ukrposhta.ua. The company does not send messages from anonymous numbers or through third-party services.

Ukrposhta’s tips on how to protect yourself from fraudsters
- Do not open links from suspicious messages. Even if they look “official”.
- Do not share your bank details on third-party websites, especially if you are not sure of their authenticity.
- Check all information about your shipments only on the official Ukrposhta website or in the mobile application.
- Report any suspicious cases to Ukrposhta’s support service or your bank.
- Be vigilant: during the holidays, mass shipments or social tension, fraudulent activity traditionally increases.
The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council also reminds that one of the key areas of hybrid warfare is to undermine trust in government institutions. Therefore, it is important for citizens to be aware, responsible and not to spread unverified information.
“Ukrposhta urges all users not to ignore the risks and share information with their loved ones – especially the elderly, who are the main target of such attacks.
