Due to the deteriorating security situation, evacuation trains will no longer run from Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. Starting from 5 September, Pavlohrad in the Dnipro region will be the initial departure station for evacuation trains. This was reported by the Myrnohrad City Military Administration, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Due to the complicated security situation, boarding of evacuation trains from Pokrovsk station (Donetsk region) has been cancelled.
“Starting from 05 September 2024, the initial departure station for evacuation trains evacuating the civilian population of Donetsk region is Pavlohrad station (Dnipro region),” the statement said.
It should be noted that the evacuation by train from Pokrovsk in Donetsk region was organised on 18 April. The train used to take people to Zhytomyr region every day, and before that – to Cherkasy region.
In August, more than 20,000 people evacuated the city. As of 4 September, 26,000 people remain in Pokrovsk.
We would like to add that the evacuation zone for civilians in Sumy region has been expanded to include five settlements. Tens of thousands of people are forced to leave their homes due to the threat of Russian shelling.
