The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a bail of UAH 30 million on the former head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration Valentyn Reznichenko and imposed a number of obligations on him. This was stated by the press secretary of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Olga Postolyuk in a comment to Ukrinform, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“The HACC imposed a bail of UAH 30 million on the former head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration, and also imposed a number of obligations on him. The ex-official must surrender his passports for travelling abroad, not leave his place of residence, and come to the investigation,” she said.
The SAPO prosecutor requested that Reznichenko be held in custody with the possibility of release on bail of UAH 40 million.
Reportedly, in 2022, the legislation in force under martial law allowed for priority funding for road maintenance, while spending on current and overhaul repairs was only possible as a last resort.
In order to obtain priority funding, the suspects replaced the information in the relevant documents about the need for current and capital repairs of roads with the need for their maintenance.
The cost of such maintenance was artificially and unreasonably increased to UAH 1.5 billion. This amount was used to conclude contracts for the relevant works with a company associated with the head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration, which overestimated the cost of materials by more than UAH 286 million.
Journalists previously wrote that it was the company of Reznichenko’s companion.
The defendants subsequently withdrew part of these funds to the accounts of other companies associated with the top official and his deputy.
