In Odesa, representatives of the National Register of Records of Ukraine recorded the record of two-year-old Anya Yakymchuk, who swam 50 metres freestyle in the pool. The child covered the distance in three minutes and 6 seconds. This was reported on Facebook by the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine Lana Vetrova, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
Anya Yakymchuk is from Chornomorsk. She is only 2 years and 6 months old. The girl set a Ukrainian record in the category “The youngest child to swim the 50-metre freestyle” by swimming the pool in three minutes and six seconds.
“Two-year-old Anya Yakymchuk jumps into the pool with such a scream that we were already thinking of rescuing her. But it turned out that the girl is always so excited about contact with water. She swims in an adult sports pool, and goes to the children’s pool just to play,” Lana Vetrova wrote.
She also said that the child swam the distance that had to be covered for the record without much effort. She didn’t need any candy or new toys, which coaches sometimes hold in front of a child in the water to help them row better.
Anna became the second youngest record holder for her coach Igor Konstantinov.
