Two Ternopil residents will be punished for abusing wild boars

Two employees of an agricultural enterprise in the Ternopil region have been notified of suspicion of animal cruelty. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

Under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Berezhany District Prosecutor’s Office, two employees of the agricultural enterprise were served with a notice of suspicion of cruelty to animals committed with particular cruelty (Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Reportedly, a video was posted on social media showing several people cruelly treating wild animals, throwing sticks and knives at them, and chasing them with agricultural machinery.

Law enforcement officers found that employees of an agricultural enterprise were involved in the incident.

Prosecutors are now preparing a motion to the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention on the suspects. Measures are being taken to identify and bring to justice other accomplices in the crime.
