Bomb threats have led to the temporary closure of polling stations in Union City, which has a 90% African-American population. This was reported by CBS News and CNN with reference to the Secretary of State of Georgia Brad Raffensperger, Komersant ukrainskyi informs.

According to Brad Raffensperger, local authorities and law enforcement quickly found out that the bomb threats that were received on Tuesday morning were the work of a “foreign state actor,” namely Russia.

“Their goal is to destabilize America,” Raffensperger said.

The Fulton County Police Department said in a statement that it had conducted an investigation “and found no active threats.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation also reported the day before that bomb threats at polling stations in several states had come from Russian email domains.

None of the threats were confirmed. At the same time, the FBI urged the public to “remain vigilant” and report suspicious activity.

The FBI assured that it would continue to work closely with state and local law enforcement partners to respond to any threats to the election.
