More than 700 volunteers have applied to join the Ukrainian Legion in Poland. The first group of soldiers has already begun training after taking the oath. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

“There are already more than 700 applications, and interviews are being conducted quite actively in Lublin. People apply on the website, then receive an invitation for an interview and communicate directly with representatives of the recruiting center in Lublin. 15 people work at this center. Next, you have to go through an interview, after which you can pass a military medical commission right there on the spot. This is an opportunity for representatives of Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania,” Defense Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin said on television, as quoted by Ukrinform.

The spokesman also suggested that similar recruiting centers could soon open in other European countries. According to him, this issue is being studied.

Currently, the Ukrainian Legion soldiers who have taken the oath have begun an intensive training course. It includes firearms training, tactical medicine, mine safety, topography and other necessary disciplines. The training is conducted by experienced Polish instructors.

“The unit is being formed of highly motivated soldiers for whom defending their homeland from the aggressor is a matter of honor,” emphasized Petro Horkusha, a representative of the Legion’s command.

Defense Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin also said that basic military training in Lublin will last 35 days. It will take place directly at the training grounds in Poland, where the soldiers will be provided with everything they need by their Polish colleagues. After 35 days of basic training, there will also be professional training, and then coordination. Volunteers can sign a contract for 3 years or until the end of martial law.
