In the event of the use of nuclear weapons, the population will be provided with gas masks. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi
with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution no. 1200 of 19 August 2002.
It was amended on 16 August 2024.
The document states that if the Russian Armed Forces use nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction, the state will provide people with gas masks for personal protection free of charge.
Local administrations should provide gas masks to non-working people by accumulating protective equipment for this purpose in local communal reserves.
Those who work in business entities that fall under the category of civil protection should be provided with protective equipment by the enterprises at their own expense.
Officials will be provided with protective equipment by the authorities at the expense of the state budget.
