The State Duma of the aggressor country, Russia, is considering a bill that would ban the activities of foreign companies that have financially supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to Russian media.

The initiative was introduced by members of the New People faction, emphasizing the need to protect Russia’s economic interests.

The amendments are proposed to be made to the law “On Foreign Investments in the Russian Federation”. According to the explanatory note, the restrictions will affect not only companies but also other organizations whose activities are recognized as threatening to the country’s security.

The authors of the draft law, citing various sources, state that from 2022 to 2025, some governments, private companies and foundations have provided Ukraine with $300 to $500 billion in financial assistance. At the same time, in light of possible negotiations between Russia and the United States, reports of foreign companies returning to the Russian market have begun to appear. However, MPs believe that the activities of some of them contradict the security interests of the Russian Federation.
