The State Bureau of Investigation has discovered a new batch of assets of Betonbud, a company owned by relatives of Medvedchuk and Kozak. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the SBI.
At the request of the SBI, the court seized and transferred to the ARMA a new batch of Betonbud’s property, which its owners, the siblings of Medvedchuk and Kozak, had hidden from the fiscal authorities.
Law enforcement officers found that the company’s balance sheet, which the SBI transferred to the state, contains unaccounted for property: a hangar for bulk materials, equipment for concrete production, a warehouse and office space. The total value of the found property is almost UAH 16 million.
The investigation is ongoing.
It should be noted that at the end of July 2024, the court ordered the seizure of the businesses of Medvedchuk’s and Kozak’s relatives. The total value of the seized property then amounted to approximately UAH 400 million.
This included land plots, corporate rights, property complexes and vehicles of four companies located in Lviv. These companies included the Betonbud plant and a construction company.
At the time, the SBI noted that the state would additionally manage more than 10,000 m² of real estate and more than 70 vehicles and construction equipment of the companies of the brothers of former MPs, Serhiy Medvedchuk and Bohdan Kozak.
According to the SBU, the brothers of the MPs suspected of high treason used controlled companies to embezzle funds by failing to pay taxes to the state budget of Ukraine.
Both suspects are currently hiding abroad. Comprehensive measures are being taken to bring them to justice.
It should be noted that Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak were notified of being suspected of high treason back in 2021. In January 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy deprived them of Ukrainian citizenship.
Medvedchuk’s arrest
Medvedchuk himself was arrested on 12 April 2022 as a result of a special SBU operation. He is a defendant in several criminal cases of high treason and economic crimes.
on 21 September, Viktor Medvedchuk was exchanged for Ukrainian soldiers held by Russia. As a result, 215 Ukrainian defenders were returned from captivity.
