Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed in a Donetsk court a scheme to avoid mobilization through a fictitious divorce and child custody. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the SBI.

A former law enforcement officer who works as an assistant to one of the judges is suspected of organizing the illegal scheme.

According to the investigation, in exchange for 3 thousand US dollars, he ensured the adoption of court decisions on the divorce of the “client” and the deprivation of parental rights of his wife. This established the fact of independent upbringing and maintenance of a child under the age of 18 by the father.

At the same time, the men did not even write statements of claim in these cases or participate in court hearings. They received ready-made decisions from the court officer after paying for the services.

“Such court rulings unreasonably provided not only a postponement of military service during mobilization for men who did not have such a right, but also allowed them to travel abroad without hindrance,” the SBI noted.

It is noted that on November 12, 2024, the assistant judge was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

In addition, investigators are checking the involvement of employees of the above-mentioned judicial institution, including judges and court management, in the commission of illegal actions.

For this crime, the assistant judge faces imprisonment for up to nine years with confiscation of property.
