On 22 February, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced the signing of a security agreement with Ukraine. This was reported by the Danish newspaper DR, according to

The publication reports that the agreement was “presented” at a press conference, but it is unclear from the text of the message whether it has already been signed. In any case, Denmark’s intentions are clear.

The prime minister said that the agreement will cover “security commitments” and will last for 10 years. That is, over the next ten years, Denmark is committed to supporting Ukraine both militarily and civilian.

“With these commitments, we are sending a very clear and unambiguous signal to the international community that we fully support Ukraine, even in the long term,”

– frederiksen said.

She said that as part of the agreement, Denmark will provide Ukraine with DKK 1.7 billion (about USD 247 million), which will not have to be repaid. These funds will be spent on air defence systems, drones and 15,000 artillery shells.

Earlier, Frederiksen said that Denmark would transfer all its artillery to Ukraine.

“Festival of security agreements”

Against the backdrop of disappointing news from the US Congress, the “Festival of Security Agreements with Ukraine” is gaining momentum, with Western countries guaranteeing our security under bilateral agreements such as the Budapest Memorandum. Ukraine has already signed such agreements with the UK, Germany and France.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has said that the Scandinavian countries are also keen to join the process as soon as possible.

In addition, agreements with Canada, the United States, Italy and Poland may be among the next to be signed, as it is known that the government is in talks with these countries.

For example, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, said that two rounds of talks between Ukraine and the US have already taken place on the content and content of the relevant agreement with the US government.

Ukraine is desperately trying to gain the support of the world. In particular, the following 5 points of the Ukrainian Formula for Peace were presented at this year’s Davos Economic Forum.
