Ukraine has received the first €40.7 million from Denmark to support its military-industrial complex. This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, reports Komersant ukrainskyi
The funds have already been transferred to the accounts of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the minister said. In total, Denmark has allocated 50 million euros for the production of 18 modern Ukrainian self-propelled artillery systems (SAU) “Bogdan”.
Umerov stressed that this step is a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities. He also noted that Denmark’s example should serve as a signal to other international partners about the importance of investing in Ukrainian military production. After all, Denmark was the first Ukrainian partner to decide to purchase weapons for Ukraine from Ukraine.
Denmark is actively helping Ukraine in the military sphere. For example, it has handed over all its artillery systems to Ukraine, recently sent us another batch of Leopard tanks together with Germany, trains Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16s, and is to hand over a large batch of these aircraft to Ukraine (although it is unclear how many).
