Will the heat return by Easter: a weather forecast

The cold snap that has come to Ukraine will last until the end of this week. And from the beginning of next week, the temperature will begin to rise slowly but surely, signaling the real and inevitable arrival of spring. Natalia Golenya, a weather forecaster, told Komersant ukrainskyi in an exclusive commentary.
“The cold snap will last until the end of this week. Next week, the processes will change from northern to southwestern and southern. Therefore, the temperature will rise. In the meantime, we have periodic precipitation in the form of sleet and snow,”
– said the forecaster.
Traditionally, such a weather change affects primarily highland regions. Already today, 1 to 7 centimeters of snow has fallen in the Carpathian region and in the Carpathians, and 16-21 cm of snow has fallen in the high mountain ranges.
In most of the country, the weather will be not quite spring-like, but not extreme either:
“At night, there will be mostly frosts from 0 to 5 °C, and in the Carpathians – up to 10 degrees below zero. Daytime temperatures will also be low, ranging from 1 to 6 °C, with temperatures in the south and east reaching up to 8 degrees Celsius.”

According to the forecaster, the northern part of the country, in particular Kyiv region, will be particularly affected, where another atmospheric front from the north is likely to arrive on April 10-11.
“This atmospheric front will again cause snow and sleet. There is a possibility of snow cover formation. According to various estimates, from 1 to 8 centimeters,”
– says Golenya.
Starting next week, the weather will gradually return to the pattern we’ve seen in the previous weeks.
“This is a nighttime temperature background of 1 to 6 degrees Celsius and daytime temperatures of 5 to 10, then up to 13 to 15 degrees Celsius. Thus, it is likely that by Easter, Ukraine may return to warmth of up to 20 degrees,”
