Can people under 25 be mobilised: the TCC gave an answer

29 July 2024 12:24

Men between the ages of 18 and 25 are considered conscripts, but there are cases when they can be mobilised. This was reported by the Odesa Military Commissariat, Komersant ukrainskyi reports

Men aged 18 to 25 can be mobilised in the following cases

  • if a man has completed conscript service in peacetime;
  • if a man has graduated from a higher military educational institution or military department and has obtained a certain military speciality;
  • if a man is recognised by a military medical commission as unfit for military service in peacetime and fit for wartime.

The MCC also reminded that, according to the law, the status of “limitedly fit” will no longer exist from April 2024 .

Persons who had this status remain liable for military service and can be mobilised even if they are under 25 years old. They can be called to check their military records and, if necessary, be sent to undergo a second military medical examination.

Men can receive one of the following statuses:

  • Fit for service;
  • Fit for service in support units, TCC and JV, military educational institutions, training centres, medical and logistics units, communication, operational support and security units;
  • Unfit for military service with the exception of military registration;
  • Temporarily unfit – requires treatment, leave or release from service;
  • Unfit for military service with a review in 6-12 months.

As reported by Komersant ukrainskyi, the TCC will now be able to see in the Oberig register data on unpaid fines and pending court cases. The government has also changed the rules for sending summonses again: it will become harder to evade, easier to fine.
