The UK has banned the export of game controllers to Russia, as they can be used to control drones on the battlefield.

Thus, the new sanctions package against Russia includes 150 new trade restrictions. The UK has cut off Moscow’s access to many technologies, including software for finding and exploiting new oil and gas wells.

“Today we are using all our powers to strangle the Russian war machine, save Ukrainian lives and protect British businesses from cynical Russian exploitation,” said UK sanctions minister Stephen Doty.

In addition, the UK has restricted the transfer of those technologies used to manufacture important electronic components, particularly amplifiers and microchips, which are used to produce military equipment.

The package also bans exports of chemicals, electronics, machinery and metals to limit Russia’s military and industrial capabilities.
