To extend a visa, you need to submit an application, the extension will not be automatic. The visa extension must be applied for 28 days before its expiration.

Applications will be accepted on February 4, 2025.

Visa extensions can only be applied for in the UK. Applications may take up to 8 weeks to be processed, during which time applicants are prohibited from traveling abroad. Their legal status and all rights remain in force during this period.

The time spent in the UK under this scheme does not count towards the 10-year period for applying for permanent residence.

As a reminder, on February 19 this year, the UK terminated the Ukraine Family Scheme, which allowed Ukrainian refugees to stay in the country legally. Under this program, refugees from Ukraine could enter the UK if they had relatives living there. Ukrainians could study, work, and receive government assistance for the next three years after arrival.

The Ukraine Family Scheme visa will expire in March 2025.
