Borrell arrives in Kyiv: the first details

This morning, 6 February, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell arrived in Kyiv. This was reported by Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of the European Solidarity party, as he wrote

“The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has arrived in Kyiv. I had a chance to talk to him on the train. He is a true friend of Ukraine,”

– he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Mayor of Riga Vilnis Kirsis and his deputy Linda Ozola also arrived in Kyiv, Goncharenko added.

In addition to them, Borrell’s special adviser, diplomat Zaki Laidi, arrived in the Ukrainian capital. He confirmed the visit by posting a photo near the train online.

It should be noted that before travelling to Kyiv, Borrell stopped in Poland, where he discussed “all forms of support” For Ukraine. This includes military, financial, reconstruction, as well as measures against Russia and the use of its frozen assets.
