Bloomberg: Americans are tired of the huge amounts of money being poured into political campaigns

6 November 11:28

According to a survey by American Promise, a group that advocates for limiting political spending, 82% of registered voters believe that the influence of money on politics is a threat to democracy. Bloomberg writes about this, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

According to the publication, the above-mentioned study somewhat overlaps with a Pew Research Center survey conducted earlier this year. According to it, 62% of voters believe that lawmakers should prioritize limiting the influence of money on politics.

This data comes as analysts predict that the current US election cycle will be the most expensive in history (with a total cost of at least $15.9 billion) and will exceed the 2020 record of $15.1 billion in spending.
