Economy in the crosshairs: the real targets of Russian missiles

A new combined attack on Ukraine: “Calibers”, including Iskander-K, ballistics, X-101, and Shahed UAVs. The previous such strike was 2.5 weeks ago. Back then, the attack was extended for ten hours to put pressure on morale.
This time, they focused on breaking through the missile defense system to guarantee something in Kyiv. Probably, some of the Iskanders are North Korean.
Another launch of the Kalibr from sea carriers. Later, a volley of X-101 air-launched missiles from two Tu-95s and a pair of Tu-160s. Before the wave of “Shaheds” – ballistics, in synchronization with the “X-101”.
Between one and three in the morning, it all reached Kyiv, Pavlohrad, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr. The targets were logistics, military-industrial enterprises, and the morale of the population. 10 dead, more than 70 wounded and injured, people under the rubble, several wounded children.
The economy is under attack
In Kyiv, one of the targets was a warehouse complex, a logistics hub where building materials and ceramics are transferred from rail to trucks, and no purely military objects.
The enemy has long been targeting the economy and jobs: the Biosphere plant in Dnipro (household chemicals), the Nova Poshta office, and a factory in Kharkiv that produces tubes and containers for the food industry and pharmaceuticals.
Moscow is quite satisfied with not only military targets, but also with the economy, jobs, taxes, and budget revenues. I will say more – the choice of ballistics and X-101 means that they are satisfied with any hit on the capital.
In Kharkiv, they attacked the Malyshev plant in two waves, using Iskander-Ks, which are harder to intercept because of their low altitude and maneuverability.
This is not the first or second attempt, but even in a place so close to the border, it is impossible to disable a dispersed enterprise. Any satellite imagery shows this – not even 10% of the buildings have been hit.
In Pavlohrad, ballistics hit the Pavlohrad Chemical Plant and warehouse complexes. The Kremlin, feeling threatened by our “long arm,” is trying to hit locations they know.
In addition, several Iskanders were shot down – the destruction was planned to be much more extensive.
Many people write that this is revenge for the disrupted negotiations, a long-range strike on Yelabuga and the Shahed production facility, or for the 51st GRU arsenal in the Vladimir region. That in this way we are being persuaded to surrender and engaged in terror. This is partly true.
But, in my opinion, these attempts do not stop. That is, it is still the same strategic operation, but the attacks have become less frequent because of the air raids on Engels, the blown up arsenal, and problems with the matching of strategists.
And also because a strong dispersion requires more time for the enemy to reconnoiter and analyze the damage.

Air defense is on top of the game
In general, air defense, despite the losses, depletion of the Soviet material base, and the shortage of Western missiles, remains on top of its game. If everything that flies could pass, the situation would be many times more difficult.
In addition, the enemy was working on Vasylkiv, probably trying to prevent aircraft from intercepting cruise missiles and, if not catching the boards on the ground, then hitting refueling stations and ammunition on the ground.
To no avail – the aviation has dozens of intercepted Kalibrs and Shaheds to its credit.
No one is going to stop
All the talks are attempts to stall for time to prepare for the summer campaign and to give Trump a chance to save face so that he doesn’t bite the bullet and continue to increase aid to Ukraine.
For now, Putin thinks he can take more. All “energy” ceasefires will end like the many “Easter”, “bread” and “school” ceasefires.
We also continue the strikes – dozens of drones attacked Crimea last night, targeting airfields with air defense systems and a network of radar.
The war is on. They will stop where and when they can no longer physically continue.
