This year, the absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will fight British boxer Tyson Fury for the second time. This was announced by the head of the General Directorate of Entertainment of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al Al-Sheikh.
The rematch between Usyk and Fury will take place on 21 December in the Arabian capital Riyadh, where the first fight took place.
“Fury vs Usyk 2. Recovery. 21.12.2024”, – announced the second fight of the champions, the organiser of the evening Al al-Sheikh.
The fighters will take place at the local Kingdom Arena.
In the first meeting , Usyk won. Both boxers agreed to a rematch. According to Boxing Kingdom, Usyk will have the opportunity to earn much more money than in the first fight. For the rematch, Usyk will receive 60% of the total fee, while Fury will receive 40%. In the first fight, Tyson Fury received 2/3 of the total fee, and the Ukrainian boxer received the rest.
However, the winner of this fight will not receive the title of absolute world champion, as in June Usyk voluntarily relinquished the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which will now be played out between the British Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.
It is likely that in 2025, Usyk or Fury will meet the winner of this fight in the ring.
