Detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security have arrested 7 airplanes worth $40 million in a tax evasion case. This is reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the press service of the Bureau.

Currently, 3 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, one Boeing 737-900 and 3 Embraer 190 aircraft have been arrested. Their estimated value is $40 million.

Earlier, detectives exposed a well-known airline in tax evasion. Its planes belong to a Cypriot company, which, according to intelligence, is affiliated with two well-known Ukrainian oligarchs.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Evasion of taxes, duties (mandatory payments)”.

Given the information provided, it is likely that this is the Windrose airline, which is associated with the Privat group of Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholyubov.

According to the State Register of Civil Aircraft, Embraer 190 aircraft were used by this airline in Ukraine, Forbes notes .

In August 2020, in an interview with LIGA.net , Rosa Winds CEO Volodymyr Kamenchuk confirmed cooperation with structures associated with Kolomoisky.

In May 2024, Avianews reported on the transfer of three aircraft from the UIA fleet to the Rosa Vetrov fleet. These were two Boeing 737-800s and one Embraer 190.

According to the registry, the owner of these aircraft is the Cyprus-based company BRAZALINE LTD, which states on its website that its fleet includes six Boeing 737-800s, a Boeing 737-900ER, and three Embraer 190s.

Ekonomichna Pravda, citing law enforcement sources, notes that these are International Aviation Line planes that have been linked to Ihor Kolomoisky and Aron Mayberg.

As a reminder, UIA was established in 1992 as a joint venture between Ukraine and Western investors to fly from Kyiv to European countries on foreign aircraft. In 2011, the state sold its 61.58% stake in UIA to private individuals. Among them were Aron Mayberg, former owner of the bankrupt AeroSvit airline, and Ihor Kolomoisky.

In 2022, UIA ceased flights amid a full-scale war and due to an internal conflict between Mayberg and Kolomoisky. In October 2023, the airline’s property began to be sold at auctions by the state-owned enterprise SETAM
