Gambling in Ukraine: The Cabinet of Ministers delegated new functions to the Ministry of Digital Transformation

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to transfer the functions of organizing and conducting gambling and lotteries to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, Komersant ukrainskyi reports
“The Regulation on the Ministry of Digital Transformation has been supplemented with the norms on assigning tasks and powers to the Ministry of Digital Transformation to ensure the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of organizing and conducting gambling and lotteries,” the statement reads.
The addition of new provisions to the Regulation on the Ministry of Digital Transformation means that from now on, this agency will be responsible for the regulation and control of the gambling business in Ukraine. In particular, the Ministry of Digital Transformation will be tasked with policy development in this area and implementation of measures for its implementation.
Budgetary changes
Within the framework of the transferred functions, the Cabinet of Ministers also decided to reallocate budget allocations. In particular, part of the funds allocated to the Economic and Financial Department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers for the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries for 2025 under the program “Management and Administration in the Field of Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries” was transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The amount of UAH 14 million 347.9 thousand was reallocated within the general fund of the state budget. These funds will now be allocated to the program “Leadership and Management in Digital Transformation” at the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
