ARMA to auction Russian tanker Nika Spirit

5 November 06:11

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has received a court order to auction the seized Russian tanker Nika Spirit (formerly Neyma) instead of transferring the asset to management. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the ARMA.

Earlier, by a court decision, this asset was transferred to ARMA for management.

According to ARMA, it is advisable to focus on the sale of expensive seized assets instead of searching for managers.

“During the war, ARMA sees the expediency of focusing on the sale of expensive seized assets, such as the Nika Spirit tanker, instead of searching for managers. This approach allows for faster filling of the state budget with funds that can be used for defense needs,” the statement said.

The ARMA has already appealed to law enforcement agencies and the National Security and Defense Council with relevant documents on the possibility of changing the mechanism for working with seized property.

The day before, the head of the Agency, Olena Duma, said that “during the war it is difficult to find a manager for elite and expensive property, and selling it at auction and directing the funds directly to the Defense Forces is more efficient for the state.”
