In addition, an agreement was reached to create a coalition of countries to collect information about captured Ukrainians.

The conference participants also pledged to support Ukraine in the reintegration of those who eventually return.

Who is waiting to be returned from Russia

The Russian authorities and their accomplices have illegally deported thousands of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories to Russia. According to the Children of War database, Russia has abducted at least 19,500 children since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, and less than 400 of them have returned home.

Russia is also holding thousands of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and 3,672 of them have been returned from captivity.

In total, more than 40,000 Ukrainians are currently listed in the Unified Register of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, which includes military personnel and civilians, according to Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna.
