In the midst of the admission campaign in Ukraine, when thousands of applicants are preparing to apply to selected higher education institutions, access to the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (USEDE) is being closed for an indefinite period. This was reported by Komersant ukrainskyi with reference to the USEDE.

The main reason for closing access to the USEDE is preparatory work and the implementation of the algorithm for targeted placement of state and regional orders.

“We inform you that due to the preparatory work and implementation of the algorithm for targeted placement of state and regional orders in 2024 (for applicants on the basis of complete general secondary education and NQF5), from 18:00 on 02.08.2024 until the recommendations are posted, access to the USEE, the Admission website (https://vstup.edbo.gov.ua/) and electronic offices of applicants for higher education will be temporarily unavailable,” the statement said.

This caused a significant outcry among applicants and their families, as they were left without the ability to quickly track the process of applying and receiving recommendations.

What is EDEBO?

The Unified State Electronic Database on Education (USEDE) is a key tool that ensures the functioning of Ukraine’s education system. It contains information on all educational institutions, study programmes, student population, graduates, and other important data.

The USES serves as a platform for interaction between applicants, educational institutions and government agencies.

Data from this database is used in the production of

  1. state-issued educational documents,
  2. documents on academic titles and degrees,
  3. licences to provide educational services and accreditation certificates,
  4. student cards.

How will this affect the admission process?

Starting from 18:00 on 2 August 2024, access to the USEDS, the Admissions website (https://vstup.edbo.gov.ua/) and electronic offices of applicants for higher education will be temporarily unavailable.

This means that applicants will not be able to submit or change their applications for admission, view the status of their applications, or receive other important information through electronic offices.

We would like to add that the admission campaign is in full swing, and many applicants are wondering how to calculate their competitive score to understand their chances of getting into the university of their choice The answer to this question will help you avoid unpleasant surprises and prepare your documents correctly. For more information on how to calculate your competitive score, read Kommersant Ukrainian ‘s article Komersant.Info “How to calculate your competitive score for admission: instructions from the Ministry of Education”.

Against the backdrop of data showing that the number of men wishing to study for postgraduate degrees has reached unprecedented levels, the Ministry of Education and Science has decided to fight against “evasion”. Minister Oksen Lisovyi issued a special order depriving full-time postgraduate students of the right to study on a contract basis. What the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada says about this and how the educational community reacts to the innovations introduced in the midst of the admission campaign, was found out by Komersant.Info
