UAH 7,000 for a cow and UAH 2,000 for a goat: applications for subsidies start

Starting February 3, farmers will be able to apply for special budget subsidies for keeping cows, goats and sheep through the State Agrarian Register. This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

According to the Minister, a special budget subsidy will be provided accordingly:

  • uAH 7,000 per head – for those who own from 3 to 100 cows of all productivity directions;
  • uAH 2,000 per head – for those who keep 5 to 500 breeding stock of goats and/or sheep.

Koval emphasized that in 2025, only those who did not receive the subsidy in 2024 are eligible for it.

For 2024 recipients, these areas will not be active in the State Agrarian Register.

“This is a real support for those who work in livestock. Do not miss the opportunity!” Koval emphasized.

It is worth noting that farmers working in the war zone will receive an additional cash subsidy.

Thus, Ukraine will pay one thousand hryvnias per hectare of land if a farmer works in the area of possible hostilities. Farmers working in the area of hostilities will receive UAH 2,000 per hectare.

As reported by Kommersant Ukrainian , there are a number of government support programs available to agricultural producers in the frontline regions, including Chernihiv region. In particular:

  • farmers in the de-occupied territories who cultivate up to 120 hectares can receive UAH 8,000 of non-refundable aid per hectare. The State Agrarian Register is now accepting applications.
  • assistance to farmers for livestock: those who keep 3 to 100 cows can receive UAH 7 thousand per head.
  • compensation for the cost of domestic agricultural machinery – up to 25%. This applies to equipment purchased since April 2024.
  • grants for the development of gardens and greenhouses – up to UAH 10 million or UAH 7 million, respectively. You can also get up to UAH 8 million to set up a processing plant.
