20 billion for food for the Armed Forces: new tenders announced

The State Logistics Operator procurement agency has announced the procurement of food for the Armed Forces for the first half of 2025. The expected value of the procurement is over UAH 20 billion. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that currently, the bidding is announced according to the current model: the supplier independently determines the manufacturers of goods for the Armed Forces. To improve the quality of products and strengthen control, the new contract already provides for a number of changes: detailed product descriptions, expanding the scope of audits and inspections, updating transportation requirements, revising penalties, etc.
According to the Ministry of Defense, it is planned to announce a procurement for the new pilot procurement model, which was presented in September 2024. This week, the framework agreements for signal tenders for producers in certain categories, namely vegetables and fruits, sausages, meat, dairy products and fish, have already been announced. These categories of goods were selected as requiring increased attention in terms of quality.
The pilot supply project will operate in parallel with the current model in 2025 in 5 regions: Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad.
Currently, the DOT is selecting contractors for further qualification and holding signal tenders, which are scheduled for mid-December.
