The government has terminated the Shlyakh system for drivers transporting humanitarian cargo.

What will change for drivers?

According to the new rules, drivers transporting humanitarian aid can leave the country only on a general basis. This means that:

  • Regional military administrations and the Ministry of Community Development will no longer enter drivers into the Shlyakh system.
  • To cross the border, carriers must meet other criteria stipulated by Resolution No. 57.
  • The Government has instructed the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Defense to develop a new mechanism for the departure of men liable for military service to transport humanitarian goods.

How should drivers cross the border now?

Carriers of humanitarian goods must wait for the development of a new mechanism, which will be determined by the Ministry of Social Policy together with the Ministry of Defense. For now, they can only travel according to the standard rules for men liable for military service, as stipulated by Resolution No. 57.

Drivers and organizations involved in humanitarian transportation should keep an eye out for official announcements from the Government regarding the new travel conditions.
